Margaret stood alone at the water's edge, the salty liquid of the ocean coaxing her sandy toes. She peered over her shoulder to see if anyone was watching from behind. Sea gulls were her only company. One in particular gazed up at her with a disapproving stare. Margaret emptied her pockets of their lining of heavy rocks. The bird had changed her mind. She would live again.
